Year Joined Firm:
2007

Home Office:
London

Background:
My domain of expertise is in transport safety and security (principally aviation security) and specifically the human factor aspect that underpins effective and efficient security system performance.

I have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, am a Chartered Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.

I spent 20 years with the Royal Air Force Institute of Aviation Medicine as Head of the Man-Machine System Group; six years as Technical Manager with the UK Ministry Of Defence’s Research and Development Laboratories; and four years as Technical Director at QinetiQ.

Favourite Project:
Since joining the Automotive, Aerospace, Transport and Industrial Practice I have contributed to a number of projects on transport security nationally and internationally. One the most exciting and challenging of these is a substantive project we have recently been awarded to undertake a comprehensive, evidence-backed review of security screening performance at our airports. This project involves working closely with regulators, legislators, end users and security staff, and will assist the client in making decisions on developing and implementing best practice guidance with possible mandatory recommendations. This is a project that has the potential to make an enduring difference to security screening performance standards internationally.

Why Booz & Company:
Booz & Company for me is an intellectually exciting organisation that offers the opportunity to work with highly dedicated professionals at the leading edge of their expertise. The vast and readily accessible intellectual capital within the company is a tremendous asset in ensuring delivery of exceptional results that exceed client expectations.

Beyond Booz & Company:
Outside of Booz & Company my wife and I are keen walkers, which is just as well as we have a small, but demanding dog – coastal routes are a favourite, especially if there is a decent pub at the end.
