With more than two decades of service to the firm, Viren has contributed a wide range of support to projects such as:

Leading a major transformation program for a large oil company, involving working capital reduction and total cash management for supply chain, order-to-cash, and purchase-to-pay process overhauls. The initial review of 70 to 80 worldwide businesses led to commitments in excess of $2.5 billion.

Directing a crucial transformation program for a major oil company, including the development of a strategic response to the emergence of technology; generating ideas from field offices around the world; and developing the business cases to launch these ideas. He and his team operated one of the earliest incubators for new operating models in Europe on behalf of the client.

Leading a joint effort with the client staff of a major European oil company to define and implement an aggressive retail business development plan for Eastern Europe; the investment plan recommended by the team was accepted by the board. The team then developed specific service station construction investment recommendations and provided implementation support activities to accelerate the company’s network development effort and realize its market share objectives.

Leading global merger integrations and supporting a “carve out” and spin off of a substantial business for a major oil company.
In recognition for outstanding client service on an assignment for BP, Viren received Booz & Company prestigious Professional Excellence Award (PEA). He is also a recognized expert in his field and author of the strategy+business articles, “No-Frills CRM” and “Making Mergers E-Merge.”
Prior to joining the firm, Viren conducted operational reviews of Exxon affiliates in Europe and Africa for Esso Europe. There, he established his fundamental insights into downstream business segments, including retail and industrial marketing, distribution, special products processing, and refining. He also worked in systems engineering at ICL.
Viren holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management and an honors degree in electronic engineering from Southampton University.
