Prior to joining Booz & Company as a Senior Advisor in 2006, Admiral Sir Ian Forbes had a career in the Royal Navy spanning nearly 40 years. He spent his early career at sea, thereafter filling roles in the higher levels of defence, in domestic and international contexts. He commanded four warships, including HMS INVINCIBLE, and the UK Carrier Battle Group, and was engaged in conflict and crisis operations off Iceland, the Falklands, in the Gulf and in the Adriatic. As an Admiral, he became NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic, and was the first European to fill this post. Since leaving the Navy, Sir Ian has continued to act as an independent advisor to NATO's Higher Command at the pol/mil level. He is an Associate Fellow of the Royal United Services Institute and a Mentor to Senior Military Command Courses. He is also the Chairman of Governors of Eastbourne College.
