Approaching a caseWe have all been there: that moment during an interview when we are asked about our approach to solving a case. Here are our top tips for helping you to get through this process:
-
Listen carefully, ask questions if there are any points you do not understand.
-
Summarize the case in your own words to be sure you understand the problem.
-
Take some time to think, don’t be afraid of silence!
-
Find a way to structure the problem, that will be helpful when you work towards a solution.
-
Work through the answer out loud, so the interviewer can evaluate your analytical structure
-
Be confident and, perhaps most importantly – relax and have fun!
Remember there is no "right" way of answering a case; nor is there always one "correct" answer. If you have demonstrated your thought process and come to a logical conclusion, you have successfully "cracked the case".
