Mike Cooke is a Partner with Booz & Company’s strategy and IT practices. Based out of the firm’s Chicago office, Mike leads the firm’s IT transformation service offering and has deep experience dealing with boardroom-level strategic initiatives involving extensive, large-scale corporate transformations driven by broad industry forces and competitive pressures. He has driven substantial change through the development and implementation of new operating models to increase efficiency and effectiveness, development of cost benchmarking studies to identify areas of opportunity, and the development of IT strategies. Mike focuses on the automotive and industrials industries, with extensive experience in other industries including defense and consumer products.

Before joining Booz & Company, Mike worked with EDS. He has also worked as a consultant with A.T. Kearney and EDS’ Management Consulting Services. During that time, he specialized in new product development, specifically in helping companies bring new products to market rapidly and at very high levels of quality.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from West Virginia University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan, where he graduated with distinction. He is a member of Pi Tau Sigma, a national mechanical engineering honor society, and Beta Gamma Sigma, a national business administration honor society.

An author of over a dozen articles, Mike has been published in Harvard Business Review, Supply Chain Strategy, CIO.com, and Consumer Goods Technology. He has also received a number of professional awards including Booz & Company’s Professional Excellence Award, the firm’s most distinguished award given to the projects with the most client impact in a given year. Mike was also awarded the IRS Director’s Award for initiating substantial transformational change.
