Based in Chicago, Jan Miecznikowski works with clients broadly in the automotive and industrial sectors. His work centers around strategic transformations, including organization model re-design; selling, general, and administrative expense (SG&A) efficiency; and product, market, and channel strategies. Jan’s engagements involve large, programmatic change, led from the top.

He led or contributed to numerous high-profile projects, including:

  • Comprehensive organization model re-alignment for a leading global heavy equipment manufacturer
  • Comprehensive organization transformation and SG&A cost reduction, including establishing a global multi-functional shared service organization for a large multi product global manufacturer
  • Comprehensive restructuring strategy for a global manufacturer, which fundamentally changed its product portfolio, redefined its business model, and reshaped its relationship with its largest customer
  • Global industry, market, and customer understanding leading to a market strategy and new global business model for a heavy equipment manufacturer and its dealers
  • Product and manufacturing strategy development across a number of products for a number of manufacturers, including global Tier One automotive suppliers and a global engine manufacturer
  • European and Asian market understanding leading to product and distribution strategies for a global heavy equipment manufacturer
  • Global market understanding and manufacturer/dealer business model assessment leading to pricing, used equipment, and rental strategies for a global heavy equipment manufacturer
  • Customer and channel strategy development across a range of businesses including building products, consumer products, industrials, and music Strategy and business model transformations for a number of automotive finance companies.


Prior to joining Booz & Company, Jan worked with McDonnell Aircraft Company for over seven years.

He received a BS from the University of Illinois, an MS from Washington University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
