Tokyo-based Partner Toshiya Imai has more than 20 years consulting experience in telecom and technology in North America, Europe and Asia, covering a broad array of industries including:

- Life and P&C insurance
- Retail and consumer products
He has built marketing strategies and helped develop products and launch new business for clients in these industries. Additionally, Mr. Imai has been involved in numerous projects to turn around portfolio companies of PE funds as well as to develop IT strategies, involving both Japanese and global companies in the financial services sector and public organization such as Japanese government agencies
Before joining Booz & Company, Toshiya was a Partner and Co-Leader of the Telecom, Media & Technology Group in Japan at Bain & Company. Additionally, he was Vice President, Financial Service and Public Sector at SAP Japan, Vice President and Leader of the Communications, Media & Technology Practice in North Asia at Booz Allen Hamilton (Japan), and part of the Sales, Process Manufacturing Industry group at Fujitsu.
He holds a BA - International Economics from Keio University and an MBA, concentration in Finance and Marketing from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University .
