Suvojoy Sengupta is a partner with Booz & Company and co-head of the India practice. Suvojoy has 12 years’ experience in leading large consulting engagements in large scale business/IT strategy and transformation. Representative engagement experience includes:
- British Government: Delivered improved customer experience and significant efficiency benefits at the state pensions service, through a multi year business transformation enabled by innovative information technologies. The first wave of transformation is delivering superior and efficient customer service to pensioners
- Central Bank of a major Middle East country: Developed the strategy, business plan, and functional/technical design for a national electronic payment service. The service is connecting a majority of the banks and major service providers in the country.
- Consortium of Middle East corporates and banks: Developed a business plan and business case for a regional B2B exchange
- UK FTSE 30 Utilities/Home Services company: Co-led the transformation of an underperforming and expensive IT organization into higher value added roles and greater efficiencies. The transformation will deliver £100-140m annual recurring benefits to the client
- UK electricity distribution utility: Developed IT smart-sourcing strategy following merger of two distribution network operators. The client has captured 30-35% savings through implementing the strategy
- Two large E&P companies: Developed integration strategy and business case for supporting joint operations in North Sea gas fields. This effort involved alignment and integration of two disparate SAP R/3 (IS Oil Upstream) systems to support a common set of shared business processes
- Two Major Global Pharmaceutical Companies: Post merger integration focusing on the research and development function across five countries in Europe and North America.
Suvojoy is active in industry fora and conferences. He co-authored an article titled “Next Generation IT Outsourcing: Profits or Perils?” published in World Economic Forum’s Global Information Technology Review, 2005. Prior to joining Booz & Company, Suvojoy worked with Andersen Consulting, helping multinational energy clients, in the design and implementation of SAP R/3 systems.
Suvojoy was awarded a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India. He was subsequently awarded an MBA at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India.
