Dr.-Ing. Steffen Leistner is a Partner with Booz & Company, and leads Russia and the CIS. He has almost 20 years’ experience in consulting with Booz & Company focusing on the telecommunications and high tech industries. Dr. Leistner has worked with clients in the United States, Europe, Middle East, North Africa, and Asia. Over the past three years, his geographical focus has shifted to Russia and the CIS.
Dr. Leistner’s focus is on strategy development, large scale strategy, and technology-based transformations.
Most recent examples of his project work include:
- Expansion and growth strategies into new markets (both geographic and product offerings), go-to-market strategies, overall strategy development for mobile, fixed, and integrated carrier
- Restructuring the entire telecommunications sector in emerging countries
- Large scale improvement/restructuring programs for mobile carriers in fast growth countrie
- Technology strategies, including the planning and implementation of the latest products and services.
Prior to joining Booz & Company Dr. Leistner worked in the mining industry for 10 years, where he held several different positions, including Operations Manager, Head of R&D, and Head of Corporate Strategy.
Dr.. Leistner holds a B.Sc. in engineering with distinction from Moscow Mining Institute in Russia, a PhD in engineering from University Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany, and an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in the USA.
