Partner Luiz Vieira is based in the São Paulo office and leads Booz & Company’s South America Operations team. His experience lies in supply chain, logistics and transportation in a variety of sectors including consumer goods and retail, food and beverage, HBC and media, electronics and electrical appliances, construction, chemicals, automotive and agriculture.
Luiz joined Booz & Company in 1990, becoming a partner in 1996. He left the firm in 2006 to become CEO of PRODUZIR, the agribusiness joint venture between Bunge and DuPont. While at Booz & Company he led over a hundred projects for large national and multinational companies, government and public sector organizations, specializing in project management, business development and restructuring, and operations/management models.
Luiz received a Ph.D. in Engineering, an M.Sc. from the Sloan School of Management and an M.Sc. from the Operations Research Center, all at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also holds an M.Sc. in transportation engineering from the University of Rio de Janeiro/Coppe and a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Brasilia. Since 2001, he has been a part-time professor of business strategy and operations at Ibmec University in Brazil.
