Keith Oliver is a Senior Partner of Booz & Company. His main area of expertise is management of the supply chain in manufacturing and distribution businesses, and he is regularly credited for having invented the phrase "supply chain management."
In more than 30 years of experience with Booz & Company, he has undertaken assignments at the boardroom level across the total value chain, with a particular emphasis on strategy and management control. These have covered overall industry supply chains, from material procurement and purchasing through all aspects of the manufacturing processes, to distribution and the marketplace interfaces of demand capture and customer service. More recently he has focused on the applicability of many of these underlying supply chain concepts to service businesses.
Mr. Oliver has completed a wide range of assignments in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Africa. His industry experience relating to batch, flow and process environments includes automotive and automotive parts, electronic and electrical equipment, consumer products, steel, paper, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and health care, telecommunications, heavy and light engineering, industrial and office equipment, armaments and work for both the U.K. and U.S. governments.
In consultancy, Mr. Oliver has specialized in programmatic change, requiring the active involvement of clients in order to build capabilities and guarantee sustainability of results.
Before joining Booz & Company, Mr. Oliver worked as Senior Organizations and Methods Analyst to the West Midlands Gas Board, and then as a consultant for Business Operations Research (Systems) Limited.
Mr. Oliver was educated in the United Kingdom at Monmouth School and holds an honours degree from Birmingham University. A British citizen, Mr. Oliver is currently based in the U.K., although he works on a pan-European and transatlantic basis.
