Booz & Company Senior Partner Hiroyuki Sawada is based in Japan, where his responsibilities include management of a diverse portfolio of client projects.
Mr. Sawada focuses his consulting skills in the areas of business transformation, especially the strategic and competitive dynamics of industrial reconstruction including acquisitions, alliances, and the integration of organizations. He also has extensive experience assisting in the revitalization of organizations through mobilization and model-implantation tools.
His specific areas of expertise include:
Mr. Sawada takes an active role as a lecturer of strategy development at the Japan Science and Technology Association. He has also written, co-authored, or translated several books, including Grand Strategy, Business Transformation, The Transformation of Management, and Management Crack.
Before joining Booz & Company, Mr. Sawada was an engineer at Yamatake-Honeywell, a project manager at Boston Consulting Group, a founding partner of Corporate Directions Inc., and a representative director at Gemini Consulting.
He holds an MBA with a concentration in finance and marketing form the University of Chicago, and M.A. and B.A. degrees in economics from the University of Washington, where he earned Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Epsilon distinctions.
