Brian Collie is a Chicago-based partner in the firm’s engineered products and services practice. He specializes in working with automotive and industrial OEMs and Tier One suppliers on business unit strategy and transformation.

Examples of his recent work include:

  • Standing up a joint venture between two OEMs to pursue opportunities in the global on-highway commercial vehicle market
  • Developing global turnaround strategy for a Tier One automotive supplier
  • Designing and helping to lead annual strategic planning process for an off-highway equipment manufacturer
  • Creating comprehensive change program for the European business of a Tier One commercial vehicle supplier to address deteriorating market conditions and remain in compliant of bank covenants
  • Developing distribution strategy for an off-highway equipment manufacturer to reconfigure existing network to best meet needs of emerging market opportunities
  • Conducting a strategic assessment into how the global truck and trailer market is expected to evolve through 2020, and the resulting impact such developments would have on our client (Tier One supplier)
  • Restructuring manufacturing network for a Tier One automotive supplier and standing up change program to drive implementation
  • Developing India market entry strategy for commercial vehicle OEM
  • Numerous China market entry and growth strategies

In addition, Brian leads the firm’s annual survey of senior executives from North American based automotive manufacturers and suppliers. Other recently published work includes: “2012 Automotive Industry Perspective”, “Smart Bets for Auto Suppliers – Transforming Underperformers into Advantaged Players”, and “The Automotive Collapse – Why it Happened, How the Industry will Recover, and What it Means for Your Business.”

Prior to joining Booz & Company as an Associate in 2003, Mr. Collie served as an officer in the United States Navy, holding a number of at-sea billets and later serving as an Assistant Professor of Naval Science at Northwestern University. Mr. Collie holds an MBA in Management & Strategy and Marketing from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, and a BA in Economics and Political Science from Villanova University.
