Ashley is a London based Partner of Booz & Company. He specialises in assisting clients to build the organisational capabilities required to achieve competitive advantage. He is part of the Organisation, Change & Leadership practice.

Trained as an economist, Ashley became fascinated by the people issues involved in change initiatives as a result of his early consulting experiences. Since then his passion has been to work with clients to engage, involve and motivate their people to ensure business transformation is successful. Areas of focus for Ashley are: leadership development, staff engagement, culture change, organisation effectiveness, HR strategy and transformation. He has been successfully engaged in change programmes which have delivered hundreds of millions of pounds in benefits.

Examples of Ashley’s assignments include:

  • Advised a major UK government agency on a multi-year transformation which was seeking to enhance customer service and improve productivity. He also provided strategic advice on HR, change management, and Learning & Development
  • Developed a leadership development programme for operational mangers in a large UK government agency which focused on experiential and team-based learning
  • Led an organisational effectiveness assessment of a major UK life and pensions provider, identifying and recommending improvements in its management processes, performance management, and skills and behaviours. He facilitated the executive committee discussions which led to the adoption of the recommendations
  • Oversaw an operational improvement initiative for a major UK government agency in their processing centres. The initiative included the adoption of lean processing techniques and raising staff engagement
  • Advised a global energy company’s IT leadership to support the adoption and implementation of a leadership framework, as well as develop the change management approach for its global transformation programme
  • Designed and delivered a large scale people transformation programme for a global IT company. This entailed assessing leadership and staff capabilities, up-skilling leaders and staff and enhancing cross-team working. This transformation delivered significant quantifiable benefits
  • Advised a large government department on how to undertake a merger with another department, the focus of activities were on how to structure its governance model and clearly define the executive responsibilities

Ashley holds a B.Sc. (Honours) in Economics & Computing Science from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, an MA cum laude in International Relations & Political Science from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and has an MBA Beta Gamma Sigma from Columbia Business School.
