Profit Migration in the Digital Economy

Abstract: Profits for digital economy players have grown from US$498 billion on $3.7 trillion in revenue in 2002 to $726 billion on $4.3 trillion in 2010. But the benefits have not been distributed equally. This Perspective analyzes the relative changes in profitability among the six segments of the digital economy’s value chain.
