Booz & Company Opens in India

Booz & Company recently opened offices in Mumbai and New Delhi, India to provide the firm’s full range of consulting services to one of the world’s most vibrant economies.

The firm’s presence in India takes advantage of an economy that continues to escalate despite the global economic slowdown. Expanding to India is part of one of the firm’s cornerstone strategies of tapping emerging economies, set last spring by CEO Shumeet Banerji.

“Given the increasing profile of India and other emerging markets, an India capability is vitally important for Booz & Company as a global firm,” said Suvojoy Sengupta, Mumbai-based Partner who is jointly managing the India business with Partner Jai Sinha. “Ten to 12 years ago, few companies understood what consultants could bring in, but the market has evolved since then. Today, Indian companies are much more savvy, having either used consultants or considered using one at some point of time.”

Booz & Company has provided consulting services for a wide range of Indian clients, and maintained a base of operations in India in the mid-1990’s as Booz Allen Hamilton. With the launch of Booz & Company in May 2008, the firm’s leaders reaffirmed their commitment to India.

Sengupta and Sinha hope to expand Booz & Company's offices in Mumbai dramatically over the next three year. To this end, the firm launched recruiting drives at India's top universities and is building its global mobility program to provide opportunities for existing staff in India and other expanding markets.
