Shifting to a Low Carbon Economy
The client’s mission was to accelerate the transition to a low carbon economy, with the goal to develop a methodology to systematically address CO2 emission across entire supply chains. It was historically successful at assisting UK companies with identifying CO2/energy reduction opportunities within traditional company boundaries, but believed there was a significant opportunity to reduce CO2 emissions by moving beyond those boundaries.
We identified a process methodology to identify CO2 reduction opportunities along whole industry supply chains, using interviews and analysis to drive the recommendation. We also worked with the client to design a pilot for the process on two supply chains: snack foods and newsprint.
The client successfully piloted the low carbon supply chain approach, identifying significant CO2 reduction opportunities in pilot supply chains.
