Sarah is a Partner with Booz & Company based in Sydney.  Sarah specialises in Financial Services and leads our Insurance Practice.  She has almost 20 years consulting experience assisting clients in strategy, operational improvement, and organisational change—in insurance, wealth management, and banking.

She has significant expertise in:

• Capabilities-driven strategy

• Alliances and post-merger integration

Over the years, her projects at Booz & Company have encompassed a diverse range of clients and challenging issues, including:

• Supported a major insurer for over ten years in corporate and business unit (BU) strategy, M&A/post-merger integration, performance improvement, operating model design, sales & marketing/distribution, underwriting, claims management, shared services, and technology
• Supported an accident compensation insurer to understand global claims best practices, customer needs, service provider needs, and internal performance—and to develop a new leading edge claims operating model
• Supported a health insurer to develop a corporate strategy and road map for change for their business
• Supported an insurer to develop a turnaround plan for the business and design a new operating model
• Supported a wealth management organisation to develop a portfolio strategy
• Supported a wealth management organisation in products and platforms
• Supported a bank to design people strategies to improve customer centricity
• Supported a bank to develop five year strategies and customer value propositions for each of their consumer and business segments, and translate this into implications for their brand, distribution strategy and footprint, products, customer management ,and operating model
• Supported a bank to develop the new vision and strategy for its corporate and institutional business, and design changes to its operating model to improve customer focus and operational excellence

Sarah is a recognized thought leader in insurance, has supported the industry associations for general (P&C) and private health insurance in Australia, and has authored a range of industry-related publications,  including General Insurance: Back to Basics,  which highlighted major trends and opportunities for insurers exacerbated by the GFC.

A scholar at Christ’s College in Cambridge, UK, Sarah has an MA in Natural Sciences.  She is a also graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
