Fernando Napolitano is a Booz & Company Partner and Managing Director of Booz & Company Italia. He leads the organization and change practice in Italy and has specialized for fifteen years in the telecommunications, media, and aerospace industries. He leads the Firm’s European Advisory Board, an external consultative body composed by 10 leading European personalities.

Napolitano graduated with honors in economics from the University of Naples in Italy, followed by the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, a Master of Science Management (major in technology management) at Brooklyn Polytechnic University, New York, and a Diploma from the Chamber of Commerce of Paris, France.

Prior to his consulting career, he held management positions at Procter & Gamble Italia marketing division and at Laben S.p.A. (Finmeccanica) Tethered Satellite, Commercial Dpt.

Institutional activities:

  • Appointed in May 2002 by the Economy Minister for a three-year term as non-executive, independent member of the Board of Directors of ENEL S.p.A. the Italian € 31 billion leading multi utility. Reappointed in May 2005. He is a member of the compensation committee.
  • Served from July 2002 to September 2006, as non-executive independent member of the Board of Directors of the CIRA (Italian Aerospace Research Center) appointed by the Research and University Ministry.
  • Served from 2002 to 2005 as industry expert within the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Commission appointed by the Italian Minister of Communications.
    Since May 2003 he has been an international affairs columnist for Panorama magazine and a Senior Editor of Economy, published by Mondadori.

He is co-author of the book, Megacommunities: How Leaders from Government, Business and Non-Profits Can Tackle Today’s Global Challenges Together, edited by Palgrave Macmillan, published in the United States in April, 2008.

Napolitano is a former Italian National Water polo team member (European Champion in 1984).
